Welconstruct appoints Project Manager to meet £5m Manchester goal

Welconstruct has boosted its presence in the Manchester marketplace with the appointment of Ian Howson as Project Manager to help more than double the turnover of the new office to £5m during the next two years.

Ian joins Welconstruct from NIC Construction where he was contracts manager. He previously taught plastering and all construction related technology skills at Manchester College of Arts and Technology and prior to that, had more than 15 years experience in the construction industry.

Welconstruct, one of the UK's leading fit out and refurbishment specialists, was subject to successful management buy out in early 2006 and launched the Fountain Street office in September last year to provided a dedicated resource for the Northwest and Yorkshire market.

Commenting on Ian's appointment, Andy Hibbert, Regional Manager for the office said "Ian has the expertise and market knowledge we need to maximise our opportunities in this part of the UK. Our reputation has grown through word of mouth and the north of England really did warrant a dedicated office."

On target to achieve more than £2m turnover this year, this was the second regional office to be launched for Welconstruct, who currently operates out of offices located in London and its headquarters in Birmingham.

Ian commented "I have worked in this area for more than 20 years and am fully aware of the opportunities that exist, especially with the arrival of the dedicated Welconstruct office to focus on the needs of clients in this area."
